History: ... I'm not re-writing his history again. Copy pasta for dinner tonight!

Sonic was born on Christmas Island and grew up on South Island.  When Robotnik suddenly appeared to enslave animals inside robots, turning the natural world into a robotic metropolis, Sonic took it upon himself to beat up Robotnik!  This was the start of the two's rivalry which still continues.  Eventually, Miles Prower teams up Sonic, earning himself the nickname 'Tails' due to the twin tails that the fox has.  Using them, Tails is capable of flying and helping our land bound hero to higher locations that were previously inaccessible.  The two worked together to bring down Robotnik's newest creation; the Death Egg.

When the doomsday device was destroyed, the scientist managed to crash land it on the fabled Floating Island - home of the Master Emerald.  In hot pursuit of the Death Egg, Sonic and Tails fly towards the Island with the intention of destroying that ship.  Using the Chaos Emeralds that they'd collected previously, our hero transforms into Super Sonic...  Only to get blindsided by this strange red Echidna.  Upon stealing the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic, Knuckles laughs and runs off leading the dynamic duo all around the Island in an attempt to find the Emeralds again while taking down Robotnik.  Eventually, it came to light that Eggman was trying to also steal the Master Emerald, tricking the Guardian - Knuckles - in order to succeed in his plans.

Thankfully, the whole confusion was cleared up, Knuckles teamed up with Sonic and Tails and Robotnik was beaten once again!

Later on, Sonic heads off on his own again.  His personality is like that wind and while Tails was, is and probably always will be content with tinkering away in his workshop and Knuckles being happiest while left on his own it's not surprising that Sonic went off on his own again.  The next adventure?

On the last month of every year, Little Planet - a planet which holds the 'Time Stones' which are capable of altering time.  Discovering such a place, Robotnik sets out to turn it into a robot utopia.  Running there to stop him, Sonic and Robotnik start competing to collect the Time Stones first.  Using the ability to travel through time, he destroys the machinesi nthe past to make a better future.  But that wasn't the only concern for Sonic this time around; Robotnik has a hostage and a new threat.  With the introduction of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, this was one adventure where Sonic finally runs into someone who could keep up with him...

Until another fake hedgehog appeared that is. Oh ho ho~

Upon returning to Station Square after another adventure, Sonic's greeted with the sight of police heading towards some strange water monster.  The weapons used against Chaos had no effect causing Sonic to step in to intervene.  Defeating that monster wasn't too much trouble, but it escaped in one of the classiest styles...

Down the sewer.  Classy.

The next day, while relaxing on Emerald Coast, Sonic witnesses Tails crash land his plane at the end of the beach.  Some things don't change with time apparently and, like any responsible older brother, Sonic goes to make sure that his lil'bro hasn't hurt himself.  Meeting up again, Tails revealed that he was trying out a new prototype plane which used a Chaos Emerald as it's power source.  With that power source, the kit's plane would be able to fly circles around Sonic's old Tornado!  The two headed off to Tails' workshop to check out some more information before getting intercepted by Eggman formerly known as Robotnik.  A quick fight later, the two lose the Chaos Emerald to Eggman who reveals that, AHA! THIS WATER MONSTER GETS STRONGER WITH EACH CHAOS EMERALD HE GIVES IT!

IT'S JUST AS THE STONE TABLETS PREDICTED!

... Sorry.

Deciding to make the best of a bad situation, the dynamic duo head off to collect the Emeralds before Eggman got to them.  Just like old times even!  Upon locating two more of the Emeralds, the doctor ambushes them just outside of Casinoplis (which had a Chaos Emerald as a prize of sorts).  Another Emerald lost to the doctor.  Not the type of people to let something like that get them down - well, Tails was, but Sonic taught him better than that - the two head off to find another one.  After running through Ice Cap, the two exit only to run into Knuckles once again.

This fight is on!  Classic Sonic versus Knuckles battle over the Chaos Emeralds; but wait!  It looks like Knuckles got tricked by Eggman again.

"Like you weren't?!"

Anyway, there goes another two Emeralds.  With four of them, Chaos has changed into a form that resembles a fish.  Jumping into a nearby lake, the three begin to fight Chaos 4.  Upon defeating the monster, Eggman makes a quick escape via his new Egg Carrier.  A brief moment spent to show off before the Doctor flees.  Quickly coming up with a plan, the two part ways with Knuckles again to give chase on Sonic's Tornado.  Eggman saw this plan coming, and using the new cannon built into the Egg Carrier to shoot down the annoying pests.

And cue Sonic falling from a great height with nary a scratch on him.

The fall separates Sonic from Tails and - being the big bro that he is - he immediately sets off to look for his twin-tailed best friend.  Instead of running into that friend, Sonic ends up getting run down by another old friend; Amy Rose.  Barely five minutes after meeting him, she asks Sonic to act as bodyguard for a young bird that she found.  Attention span is gone!  Running off, Sonic is stopped by a giant, green robot appearing to menace Amy and the bird.  No problem, Sonic's dealt with bigger buckets of bolts-

Only to be stopped by Amy getting distracted by Twinkle Park.  Oh yes, couple special going on, Amy and Sonic simply MUST go together like any couple should!  Without waiting for an answer, Amy runs in ahead of Sonic.  Sometime between the bumper cars and the mirror room the two lose each other in the giant amusement park, resulting in the blue hedgehog exiting out to the streets on his own.  Now what?

Run through a highway for the fun of it.  Up and down and all around!

Exiting the downtown region of Station Square, Sonic finally finds Amy again...  In the clutches of the enemy robot along with the bird!  And that's no good!

Oh god, my tense changes, I'm so sorry, Mod-tan.

Sonic managed to cut them off at Mystic Ruins, but not before Eggman showed up to warp them up and away onto his Egg Carrier.  It was all Sonic could do to chase them through Red Mountain...  Until Tails showed up with his new and improved Tornado II.  With the use of a Chaos Emerald, it meant that the new plane had enough power to stand up against the Carrier.  Commence Sky Chase Act II!  And this time, they managed a (very bumpy) landing on the flying fortress.  Yet, even when they arrived on the Egg Carrier, Eggman managed to find a way to impede their advancement.  Transform!  Egg Carrier Battle Mode!

Which meant that the two would have to run through Sky Deck to get to where Eggman was.  So after they'd smashed through a large portion of the robots and cannons that served as the defense system for the Sky Deck, Sonic and Tails finally made it to the swimming pool.  Wait, what?

Eggman and the others were just outside, having 'negotiated' who would take the Chaos Emerald in the bird's possession.  Darn, so we were too late!  But wait-

A NEW CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED!

Gamma was summoned to defeat Sonic and Tails and prevent them from further disrupting Eggman's plans.  But before Sonic could knock Gamma out for good, Amy stood in the way to stop him.  According to her, Gamma was a friend and Sonic was never the type to attack someone that was considered a friend.  Having sorted out that problem, another quickly came to take it's place; with the damage to the Sky Deck and the Tornado II's previous assault, the Egg Carrier was too heavily damaged to keep flying.  It was losing altitude!  Sending Tails and Amy off first, Sonic sets off to stop Eggman for good.

After changing the ship.  Wow, that egghead's captain's chair could double as a throne if he wanted it to.

Eggman was at the front of the ship along with a new and improved version of Chaos; Chaos 6!  Along with the six emeralds, the beast had also found the tail that had separated from it.  Now towering above Sonic, Eggman ordered it to attack and yet another fight between Sonic and Chaos occurred.  There goes yet another part of the Egg Carrier, thank goodness Sonic's not tagged with the bill for damages here.  And hey!  Knuckles showed up just in time to see him kick Chaos' water-y butt!

But enough chit-chat, Eggman was getting away, the Egg Carrier was still up in the sky and what else could Sonic do but jump after him?  Dear terra firma, we have got to stop meeting this way...

When he woke up from his fall, he finds himself lost somewhere in the Mystic Ruins.  Before he even had time to think of running off though, a ball of light appeared to direct him towards the ruins in an obvious gesture of wanting Sonic to follow it.  While Eggman was still a threat at that point, without any other clue as to where to go to find his arch villain, following that ball of light seemed as good an idea as any.

So off he went, into the Lost World on a trip that would have made Indy proud.  When he reached the very center of the ruins, Sonic found yet another mural; this one depicting a monster destroying an entire civilization, rather than the one showing himself fighting Robotnik.  Creepy how accurate these Echidnas were at these things, huh?  While still looking at the mural, the hedgehog suddenly found himself in front of the Emerald Altar, albeit in a place that bore very little resemblance to the Angel Island he was familiar with.  The one greatest difference was the fact that the Altar was on fire!  There was destruction everywhere!

What else can a Hero do but run up to make sure people were okay?  At the foot of the Altar lay a young Echidna girl who had just regained consciousness.  She ignored Sonic when he asked about her well-being, instead saying something about how horrible this was; all because the Echidna tribe that she belonged to had tried to use the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emeralds for their own gain, the guardian of the Chao had attacked and destroyed them.  Her monologue was cut off by a roar, and before Sonic could see the beast properly, the girl had run off to try and stop it...

And he woke up at the entrance of the ruins, where he had originally landed.  It wasn't long before Eggman showed up, successfully stopping Sonic from pondering about what had just happened.  Quick, to Eggman's base!  Since he'd done infiltration for years (three, but who was keeping count?) Sonic broke into the base at Mystic Ruins quickly enough.  Having made his way carefully past the tanks that were holding Silver Sonic and Metal Sonic - who Sonic made sure to move by very, very carefully - he broke into the main part of the base and started running through to find Eggman in the very center of the base.  Since this was that doctor's base, it made sense that Sonic might as well try to do as much damage to it while he was there, right?  Maybe it would destroy those metallic copies of himself that the madman had stored away as well, and Sonic could bring down two robotic birds with one stone.

Reaching the center of the base, Sonic and Eggman exchange quips before their fight began.  At the end of the fight, the Doctor attempts a last resort kamikaze attack to take Sonic down with him as well.  Having dodged that attack (Eggman had abandoned ship long before the crash) this ends Sonic's adventure.  Commence five other character stories and-

OH CRAP, WHY IS ANGEL ISLAND FALLING INTO THE OCEAN AGAIN!?

Knuckles and Eggman have been knocked semi-conscious by Chaos, who had reclaimed the Chaos Emeralds that Knuckles had taken from it.  After a brief explanation from Knuckles regarding what to do next and an even briefer explanation as to why Eggman and Knuckles were knocked out (Chaos rebelled against Eggman is the long and short of it) before Sonic and Tails head back to Station Square-

Only to find that Station Square had been destroyed by Perfect Chaos.  Having absorbed the power of all seven Chaos Emeralds, Chaos had evolved and was taking out it's anger and rage on the citizens of Station Square.  After so many years of being sealed inside the Master Emerald, it finally got to take it's revenge.  Tikal appeared, telling Sonic and the others that they had to seal Chaos again, before it destroyed the world.  Sonic had a different idea though; with Chaos filled with anger, if they sealed him away then this tragedy would only repeat itself.

And what better way to dispel anger than to brawl it out?  Using the positive energy inside the Chaos Emeralds ('Chaos is power enriched by the heart') Sonic transformed into Super Sonic and defeated Perfect Chaos.

Oh god, we're finally finished Adventure...  SEVEN GAMES LEFT PEOPLE!! (AT THE FIRST DRAFT OF THIS APP!)

A few months later, adventure picks up again.  Only this time, Sonic's been arrested by the Police for a robbery he didn't commit.  Knocking out the crew that held him hostage, Sonic jumps out of the helicopter, this time landing on a panel from the vehicle and skating through the city instead of landing on his face.  After destroying another robot that was sent after him, he finally encountered the real hedgehog who stole the Chaos Emerald.  A quick conversation between the two before the fake hedgehog revealed himself to be Shadow, the world's ultimate life form.  Shadow made a quick exit with the use of Chaos Control and the police surround Sonic while he was surprised by the suddenly disappearance.  Shipped off to Prison Island and locked in a cell, how embarrassing...

Only to get busted out by Amy.  Could this day get any worse?  At least Tails was there too...

Then it turns out Shadow and Eggman had rigged the island to explode.  And Sonic didn't get to find out about it until after trash talking Shadow and fighting.  Still no winner, since both hedgehogs had friends/comrade to get out before the Island was destroyed but hey, it served it's purpose.  The challenge had been issued!

After getting off the island and returning to Station Square, the three witness Eggman's new scheme.  With the Space Colony ARK now under his control, he used the Eclipse Cannon to blow up half the moon.  His ultimatum?  To surrender control to Eggman else he blew up the planet.

Of course Sonic can't let that happen, that's just no good!  Tails had planned ahead though, and held onto one of the Chaos Emeralds.  With that, they could trace the location of the other Emeralds and, subsequently, find out where Eggman was.  With that plan set up, the two split up to try and see if there was a place where the Emerald would react... Only to come up with nothing.  Looks like Eggman got the other six already and the only way to stop them was to head up to the Space Colony ARK themselves.  They ran into Knuckles again part way through and found out that the Master Emerald had been destroyed, resulting in the Echidna going on another treasure hunt for them.  Obviously not one to pass up on a comrade coming along (or maybe just to annoy the knucklehead), Sonic invited Knuckles to join them.  Admittedly, it did help them break into Eggman's base on land much more easily.

Before they reached the shuttle they needed though, Eggman made his appearance, summoning a giant golem to fight - and to get rid of - Sonic and his friends.  To no real success, with a swift kick to the control unit on the golem's head, the blue hedgehog disabled Eggman's control over it and quickly made his exit, stage left.

Only to have Knuckles almost crash land the shuttle on the ARK.  Can't we ever get through one of these adventures without almost dying?  Upon collecting themselves again, Sonic, Tails and Amy made their way carefully through ARK with Tails outlining a plan about how they would insert the fake Emerald that he made into the Eclipse Cannon to cause the machine to backfire and stop Eggman and Shadow from using it.  Sonic agreed with the plan, and they part ways there...  Only for Eggman to catch Amy and Tails.  Using them as a bargaining chip, Eggman forced Sonic to run all the way through Crazy Gadget and back to the command room.

"You've become a big time villain now, Eggman."

Deciding that this was his best bet to get Tails and Amy to safety while still stopping the cannon from firing again, Sonic acted as though the emerald he was holding was the real one.  Once he made it to the middle of the room, the Doctor trapped him inside a capsule and called Sonic on his bluff.  Tails fell for it, confirming that, yes, the Emerald in Sonic's hand was indeed a fake.  So much for that plan.  With that information in hand, Eggman decided to put an end to his arch nemesis and jettisoned the capsule that Sonic was trapped within.  The hedgehog had to think fast if he had wanted to escape and the first thing he could think of was the Chaos Control that he'd seen Shadow use.  Sonic had been locked with the fake Chaos Emerald, which held the same properties as Tails but was much weaker.  A deep breath and...

Chaos Control!

Somehow - against all odds - Sonic managed to teleport himself back into the ARK and practically landed on top of Knuckles.  A brief moment of concern from Knuckles and for Sonic to catch his breath, the hedgehog thought up a new plan of action and set off to destroy the Eclipse Cannon before it was too late.  Time for the Final Rush to the Cannon before Eggman could think of carrying out his threat to destroy the planet.  Shadow appeared to stop Sonic's plan to save the world one last time, expressing his surprise at the other surviving the explosion.

"What are you anyway?"
"What you see is what you get!  I'm just a guy that loves adventure!  I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!"

Their battle never reaches a proper conclusion before they get hijacked by Gano- Gerald.  With all seven Emeralds in place (because Eggman is an opportunist and took the last Emerald while Tails wasn't looking) Gerald's final program kicks in; to destroy the planet that took his beloved granddaughter from him.  With ARK on a crash course with the planet, the only way to stop this calamity was to use the Master Emerald in Knuckles' possession to negate the power of the Chaos Emeralds.  The two teams - minus Shadow, who knew about Gerald's plan and had helped his creator's plan along - set off towards the Cannon's Core to save the world (and themselves).  When Sonic and Knuckles broke through to the Core, the two were attacked by the prototype of the Ultimate Life, the Biolizard.  Shadow appeared at that point to lend a hand after finally overcoming his grief and wrath at Maria's death to remember that he had promised to protect the world that the two of them had admired so much.

With the monster distracted, Knuckles and Sonic were able to approach the Altar and use the Master Emerald to stop the ARK's descent.  However, the Biolizard had Chaos Controlled itself to the outside of the space colony and was still pulling it towards Earth.  When both realized that this wasn't something they could do on their own, Shadow and Sonic teamed up to take down the Final Hazard, using the power of the Chaos Emeralds to go super.  When the beast was defeated, the two heroes used one last Chaos Control to warp the Colony - now being pulled towards the planet by gravity - back into orbit.  Having used the last of his energy to make sure that the Colony would make it back to it's orbit, Shadow didn't have enough energy to return to the colony alongside Sonic.

Despite his best efforts, only one hero was able to return to ARK.

Crisis averted, the group collected themselves and returned to the planet.  Sonic stayed behind a moment longer and - in a gesture that echoed Maria's fifty years before him - bid Shadow farewell...

Later down the line, while Sonic was off on another adventure, Tails and Knuckles met up with him.  Apparently, Eggman was planning yet another attempt at taking over the world and the three had to show up to tango with their old nemesis.  Fighting through legions of robots and three other teams - albeit, Sonic was trying harder to get away from Amy and recover from the shock that, hey! Shadow!  You're alive!! - the three finally confronted Eggman...  Only to find that the first one they ran into was a dummy robot.  So much for that.

The same thing happened the second time around, only instead of a dummy robot, it ended up being Metal Sonic who had been leading all the teams on a wild goose chase.  That's right, Metal Sonic has made a comeback!  And this time, he came prepared.  It took everyone working together in order to defeat Metal Madness but ultimately, it was Sonic who won.  Now... To run away from the ever persistent Amy!

THEN SHADOW AND SONIC '06 HAPPENED.  PIME TARADOX!!

No, seriously.  Convoluted time line get and I am not going into it.

One night, while staying up late to read the story of the Arabian Nights, Sonic found himself awake with a new ring on his bedside.  Picking it up, a genie calling herself Shahra suddenly appears telling him about how her world in the Arabian Nights story was being erased by a being called Erazor Djinn.  And, kids?  THAT'S NO GOOD!

So what else could Sonic do but agree to help her?  Since she was the genie of the ring, it meant that she could use a wish to pull Sonic into the world of the Arabian Nights.  Nifty, eh?  So off they went to stop Erazor from erasing all the words in the Arabians Nights and thus escaping into Sonic's world (or the real world, if you want to be specific).  However, before they could get very far, Erazor appeared with the intention of stopping both Shahra and Sonic.  It was at this point that Sonic was hit by an arrow over his heart; the lit flame on his chest now dictated the amount of time he had left to live.  With the limited time he had, Sonic had to go and collect all seven World Rings and give them to Erazor to remove it.  While Sonic appeared fine when he gathered the first few rings, it quickly became apparent to him that these rings operated on a very different level from the Chaos Emeralds he was used to.

In fact, he wondered if they would be able to even open up the gates of Hell itself.

Instead of the Chaos Emeralds - which contained power that was enriched by the heart - each World Ring had a different emotion sealed within it.  Prayers, sadness, rage, hatred, joy, pleasure and wishes; the seven rings that bound the world of the Arabian Nights together.  With all seven of them collected, Erazor had planned to use their powers to move into the real world and be free to rule.  When Shahra was struck down by the other djinn, Sonic used the power of three of the world rings to turn into Darkspine Sonic.  Using that power, he was able to defeat Alf Layla wa-Layla (yea, I had to look that up) and, using the three wishes that Erazor had to grant as the Genie of the Lamp, wished for him to restore the Arabians Nights, to bring Shahra back to life and to be sealed within the lamp forever.

"I told you, I'm not a rat!  I'm a HEDGEHOG!"

That adventure finished, Sonic ran through the Arabian Nights alongside Ali-Baba (who bore a striking resemblance to Tails) and Sinbad (who looked very much like Knuckles) until he was able to find a way to return to his own world.

Back in the real world, it wasn't long before Eggman started his next scheme.  Out in space, he made himself a space fleet armada with the intention of blowing up the planet.  Yes, blowing up the planet.  Of course Sonic had to step in and destroy all of Eggman's mechs before anything like that could happen!  Taking the Chaos Emeralds with him, he used them to transform before he went and destroyed a few of Eggman's ships.

The doctor had planned this though, and after he led Super Sonic to his main control room, he used a new gadget to both trap Super Sonic and extract the Chaos Emeralds from him.  Oh yes, his plan was quickly taking hold, and with the Chaos Emeralds in his possession, he blew the planet apart to awaken Dark Gaia.  During that time, Sonic was exposed to Dark Gaia's power directly and was transformed into a beast.  But, since he was awakened prematurely, Dark Gaia could not hold itself together and dispersed across the world.  When nightfalls, the people of the world become possessed by Dark Gaia and despaired.

Kinda like how the Hyrulians turned into spirits in Twilight.

With the Emeralds depleted and Sonic transformed, Eggman no longer had any need for the blue hedgehog (former hedgehog) and all but ejected Sonic from his ship.  With Earth's gravity in effect along with the vacuum of space and no longer bearing the protection of the Chaos Emeralds, our dear blue werehog was left to fall to his death.  But where there is darkness there is light and something managed to slow Sonic's fall long enough for him to...

Have deja vu regarding his original fall after Sky Chase.  3... 2... 1...  WHAM!  Then the Chaos Emeralds land peacefully around him.

When he pulled himself up out of the ground he saw before him a small chihuahua like creature lying unconscious next to him.  Waking up the other person, only resulted in the yet unnamed character to jump up in surprise and fear.  After all, compared to his usual self, the werehog doesn't exactly instill confidence in people.  But a quick conversation was enough to clear up that misunderstanding and Sonic reverted by to his usual self once the sun appeared over the horizon - much to his surprise.  When they ran through Apotos looking for anyone who knew Chip - who was given that name by Sonic, who had coined it on a whim after seeing Chip's reaction to the Sundae Supreme - or anything that could help him regain his memories.

The day was spent that way, and once night fell Sonic found himself back in Werehog form.  Two discoveries were made that night; one was that Dark Gaia's power in the world caused people to despair like no other and two, the werehog had stretchy arms.  Can't say SEGA didn't do anything new for this game.

Before they could set off anywhere else though, Sonic caught wind of someone calling for help...  Tails had been surrounded by Dark Gaia monsters!  Of course Sonic couldn't leave his best buddy on his own after that!   After running through Apotos and beating up the monsters that had ganged up on Tails, Sonic and Tails reuinte.  With much less humour than Sonic's first meeting with Chip, though the surprise was still present when the kit saw what his big bro had turned into.  A conversation revealed that Eggman had kidnapped the one person who had any information regarding Dark Gaia.  So the two set off to Mazuri to rescue Professor Pickle from Eggman!

Which... was easy enough.  Eggman didn't try particularly hard to hide his base this time around.

Once they teamed up with Professor Pickle and Tails, Sonic and Chip set off to return power  to the Chaos Emeralds - which had been drained by Eggman while breaking apart the planet - and put an end to Eggman's plan.  They traveled around the world, meeting people, trying the food and seeing the sights all while trying to figure out Chip's lost memory.

It wasn't until they restored the second last Emerald in Adabat did Chip finally remember...

Just like how Dark Gaia was awakened prematurely and couldn't keep his form, Light Gaia also was unable to maintain its form and took the appearance of Chip.  The reason why Sonic's new friend was able to activate the Gaia Temples and help Sonic restore the Emeralds was because of that fact.  At this point, Sonic also pointed out that it must have been Chip who protected him from the despairing effects of Dark Gaia's energy, to which Chip denied.  It was Sonic's own will that prevented that effect and perhaps it was because of the fact that Sonic was unaffected that Light Gaia sought out the blue hedgehog's help.

Not that surprising, honestly...  Shahra came out of a storybook after all.

After he thanked Sonic for showing him the world that he had been protecting for eons and yet knew nothing about, Chip decided to head off to stop Dark Gaia on his own.  An idea that was quickly put to a halt by Sonic.

"Who says I need a reason to help a friend?"

Next stop; Eggmanland!  And boy is that place fancy.  A killer amusement park (one you would never want to go to in your spare time, that's for sure)  It was there that the final confrontation with Eggman and Dark Gaia occurred.  By then, Dark Gaia had regained enough of it's power to fight back and - just like the Gaia Manuscripts in Prof. Pickle's possession predicted - confront Light Gaia.  To destroy and to restore the planet; those were the roles that the two had.  But there wouldn't be a story if Sonic had let the world be destroyed.  Working together with Chip (and using the seven Chaos Emeralds to turn into Super Sonic) the two of them defeated Dark Gaia after a long battle.  Sonic, who had exhausted his power much in the same way that Shadow did after ARK, collapsed and would have fallen into the magma beneath the Earth's crust had Chip not caught him.

With a quiet farewell and thank you, Chip threw Sonic back up and onto the Earth's surface.

Albeit, he overshot the crust and in an action that mirrored the first event Sonic dropped back to the surface...  About three feet to the left of his original impact point.  When he pulled himself out of the ground, the hedgehog looked around to see an image of Chip.  Except it wasn't Chip exactly, just a bracelet that resembled the necklace that the other always wore.

Wait- Didn't Shadow leave his power ring behind too?  Oh snap, Sonic, stop taking everyone's bling!

Oh well, off to another adventure!

THIS TIME IN THE REALM OF KING ARTHUR!!  (mun fangasm goes here)

Yes, Sonic had agreed to go on a date with Amy while he and Chip had been restoring the Chaos Emeralds and on the day of the date...  He found himself inexplicably falling from the sky with the chilidogs he had gotten for himself and Amy. FACEPLANT!  But with his beloved chilidogs in danger, Sonic couldn't stay on the ground long and got up quickly to recover the delicious treats.  Only when they were safely in his hands again did he take the time to look around and realize that he wasn't in Station Square anymore.

For one, there was someone who greatly resembled Shahra apologizing to him while this armored knight slowly advanced upon them both.  It didn't take long for Sonic to figure out why he was summoned and quickly downing one chilidog, he went to dispatch the legions of the underworld from around them leaving only King Arthur to face.  Which was something that Melina couldn't let him do, not without a proper weapon.  Now for a proper introduction of Merlina to Sonic; welcome to the Kingdom of Camelot, the land ruled by King Arthur.

But the once benevolent king has been corrupted and to stop him, Merlina needed Sonic to find a way to stop the scabbard's power of immortality and to defeat the king and free the people from his tyranny.  To do that, the blue hedgehog needed to collect the sacred sword Caliburn.

Suffice to say, Sonic and Caliburn's first meeting went the same way as Sonic's first meeting with Knuckles or Shadow or Blaze or -

"Then I shall call you 'Knave the Hedgehog'."

- Everyone in the series ever.  Wow, Sonic, bad impressions a go go?

Moving along.

It took a few days to properly collect all the sacred swords that were needed to seal Excalibur's Scabbard (Lancelot's sword, Arondight, Gawain's sword, Galatine and Percival's sword, Laevatien) and actually confront the King but upon defeat, the king simply disappeared in a puff of black smoke in a manner reminiscent of the underworld knights that Sonic had been fighting up to that point.  When he returned to Camelot Castle to tell Merlina of this - and subsequently, the Knights of the Round Table as well - she thanks Sonic for his help before using the scabbard's power herself to make the world of King Arthur immortal.

Even with Nimue's guidance and the Knights' help, the barrier that was raised to stop Merlina's magic wasn't strong enough to properly stop her.  Their last chance was for Sonic and Caliburn to confront her but even then, the battle was fierce.  Merlina revealed her intentions; this world created by her Grandfather, Merlin, was meant to be their Eden.  But the Round Table was torn apart by the rift between Lancelot and Gawain while Arthur himself will be struck down and sent to Avalon.  To know that your world would be destroyed, all she wanted to do was to use the scabbard's power to make the world immortal.  Try as he might though, Sonic could not understand why she would want an immortal world.

Doesn't the brilliance of life come from knowing that it has an end?

Ultimately, Merlina was struck down by the reborn Excalibur wielded by Sonic.  With the story nearing it's conclusion, the Knights gather around to point out the fact that - without a King - the Knights of the Round Table will have to disband.  This train of thought was quickly put to a halt by Caliburn also known as Excalibur and was the sword trapped in stone.  (Don't you love how that works out?  /nerdgasm)  It was he who chose who would be the one true King.

And who pulled Caliburn out of the stone? The one and only!

With Camelot saved and the world not being immediately threatened by Eggman's schemes, things were pretty laid back for a while. Sonic still ran around the world in 80 minutes for kicks and Tails still stayed at his workshop tinkering on one of his new inventions. Until Eggman decided to take the idea he came up with when he blew up the planet and go the whole nine yards. Eggmanland had been quite the killer amusement part; fun, festive and a pain for Sonic to get through. Why, with some changes, he could easily make an amusement park that would be perfect for, what else? THE ENJOYMENT OF THE MASSES! For he has renounced his evil ways and the new interstellar amusement park - connected to the world via orbital elevator - was his apology for all the havoc he had wrecked previously.

Because awesome amusement parks that must have cost millions to create was definitely the way to go, right?

"You may be able to fool everyone else, but you can't fool me!"

Sonic, being Sonic and having known Eggman for a good portion of his teenage years, didn't believe the scientist's story for a moment. With Tails along for the ride, the two catch an elevator ride up to Eggmanland a day before opening with the intention of busting whatever scheme it was the 'good doctor' had planned. Because it's what Sonic does. And what a scheme it was.

Not being a foreigner to the concept of chaining planets together, Eggman had trapped several planets together and with a show of IMMENSE mechanical genius, somehow prevented them from either a) falling into the Earth and ending the world and b) colliding with his Grandfather's legacy, the Space Colony ARK. Enslaving the indigenous species happened to be a specialty of the mad doctor as well and the aliens, known as Wisps, were quickly rounded up by Eggman for their Hyper Go-on power. It seemed almost nostalgic, this adventure... Sonic and Tails wasted no time at all getting down to breaking the Generators holding the various areas of the amusement park together and making a translator so that they could understand their new alien companions (Sonic was the one running around and Tails the one making the translator). One awesome amusement park run later, the aliens are saved and the two intrepid heroes are forced to flee the exploding amusement park. You see, while Eggman has an IQ of 300, he has a tendency of missing details of the more mundane - but still vitally important! - variety. One of the first boss robots Sonic destroyed had impaired the stability of the canisters holding all the Hyper Go-on energy that had been stored up and when Eggman went to use the energy to brainwash the world the surge caused massive explosions all through Tropical Resort. It almost took out the escape route as well, but speedy escapes are something that the Fastest Thing Alive is quite adept at.

Until the park owner decided to appear for one last showdown. This would be the last time that hedgehog messed up one of his schemes!

It was the showdown of alien proportions; Eggman was using the Wisp's various powers against Sonic in an attempt to at least put an end to his most worthy rival even if he had failed to take over the world. Except Sonic still came out on top. The one thing he hadn't expected was the time lost to fighting Eggman meant that Sonic was almost caught in the amusement park explosion. Thank goodness for new friends being of alien origin. The Wisps (whatever remained of the population that Eggman hadn't mutated/drained) saved the blue hedgehog from the explosion and re-entry through the planet's atmosphere. Wow, that sounds familiar--

Still, another adventure finished and what a wild ride it was.

Personality: "I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog! And I have no master except the wind that blows free!"

And that would be Sonic's personality in a nutshell. He hates to be idle and is almost constantly found to be on the move - something that is exemplified whenever he has to introduce himself to a new face. Sonic's just a guy who loves speed and adventure and the rush that all of it brings. A lot of what he does is done on a whim; rarely does he listen to what other people tell him to do instead following his instincts and his heart of gold. It probably is a heart of gold underneath all that blue fur too. No matter what the consequences are, Sonic follows through with his actions so long as he feels that it's the right thing to do.

"Guess I can't be the hero all the time!"

Carefree and naturally charismatic, making friends and comrades is something that comes naturally to Sonic. A competitive streak a mile wide and an ego to match tends to make for bumpy first meetings but Sonic is as reliable a friend as they come. Introverts beware! There's a mischievous and playful side to Sonic's personality that prevents him from actually leaving his introverted friends alone. After all, what's a few broken bones and burnt spines in the face of letting those loners know that they aren't alone anymore? Like any hero worth their weight in salt, Sonic's courageous, self-assured and always willing to lend a hand. All you have to do is ask! Or not. Every so often, Sonic gets ahead of himself and offers aid to people who say they don't need it but that's when Sonic's stubbornness comes to light. Won't give up and won't compromise (much to Knuckles and company's chagrin, surely).

Every so often Sonic underestimates his foe and lands himself in trouble; the one accident with Dark Gaia was certainly one worth remembering if only because the results were... quite ridiculous. But it might have been much worse if it weren't for the fact that the blue hedgehog has quite a strong will (enough to stave off the negative effects of Dark Gaia's influence) and the help of Light Gaia as well. Chip himself says as much about Sonic's fighting spirit and such spirit both inspired the Knights of the Round Table and somehow re-forges the greatest sword, Excalibur, in one go. Saving the world and being awesome while doing so isn't just a hobby for Sonic - though it certainly does cater to his need for adventure and excitement - but a way of life. He's been fighting Eggman since he was around 10 and never once has he turned away from a plea to help save whatever world from whichever monster of the week.

Few things in the world manage to draw the blue blur's ire, but the things he does dislike, he hates with a passion. Oppression of others by any means is something that Sonic does not take kindly to, something followed by tears (though he understands that, sometimes, you just can't help but cry) and water. It's easy to understand why he would hate bullies and tyrants so much; he loves to run free and tends to things his own way. For him, freedom is something that everyone has a right to no matter what sort of background they come from. Following the norm may be easier sometimes, but hey, being able to do things for yourself without anyone to tell you otherwise is certainly something that can't ever be replicated (for Sonic, anyway). This blue hedgehog also happens to dislike seeing people sad or upset, often comforting them or goading them into a fight. Because while comfort certainly helps some people, it doesn't mean it's fit for everyone.

And, when you happen to be friends with the hardheaded Guardian of the Master Emerald and the slightly vengeful Ultimate Lifeform, sometimes it doesn't matter what you do, it will end up in a fight regardless. It saves time and effort just to go straight to plan B in these cases.

Which isn't to say that he's bad at reading people. Sonic can do that just fine when he needs to! It's just that he sometimes tosses that out the window and tosses in some corny lines instead.

The adventure seeking part of Sonic's personality seems strange to pair with a laid-back view of life but that's what Sonic has. He loves adventure but he also doesn't stress the details. Sometimes things get out of hand, like the incident with Perfect Chaos in Station Square, but Sonic doesn't carry the weight of failures with him. He acknowledges them, of course, learns from them and mourns the lives lost like any hero would but unlike some, he knows when to let go. It's one of his charm points and this facet of his character probably sets up the charisma portion of it as well. He doesn't think as much as some of his friends (re: all of his sensible friends) but that doesn't mean he's dumb by any stretch of the imagination. Sonic's fast on his feet with the street smarts, fighting experience and common sense needed to get him out of any sort of jam that doesn't need strange arithmetics that requires letters as well as numbers. Really, when your little brother happens to be a veritable genius and you've got a friend for practically every sort of situation, why would you ever need anything other than basic education?

... Well, at least he reads every once in a while?

Fears: Being thrown into what most would consider a guerilla war against a mad scientists who specializes in all things mechanical and robotic, Sonic's seen a lot and been through just as much. There really isn't a lot left in the world (or any world) that scares this hedgehog. But, like any brave-hearted hero, he worries and is afraid of losing his friends (or, in cases of younger characters, seeing them hurt). Especially he happens to be one of the reasons WHY said friend(s) are in danger.

Due to the fact that he both sinks like a stone and, thus, cannot swim, Sonic is quite uncomfortable around water. He can run fast enough to go over water but he requires either some space to build up the speed and momentum needed or rings with which to use the 'boost' ability. There are times where water simply cannot be avoided, but when he's presented with an upper route away from the wet stuff or a path through it? Chances are, he will take the higher route and spare some towels from having to dry some disgruntled hedgehog quills.

Weaknesses: Sonic has a tendency of leaping before he looks, resulting in either a) Nice Job Breaking It Hero or b) him getting smacked around a little before he gets back on his feet. While this applies to his actions, it also applies to his speech patterns too. This hedgehog often lets his mouth move at 80 mph without a seatbelt and some of the things he says reflect it.

Another point is that Sonic can't swim. He dislikes water, but considering how Shadow and Silver and Amy could swim fine during the Olympics while Sonic needed water wings and was still flailing helplessly... It's quite a sight to behold.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Hero of Mobius, Knight of the Wind, Fastest Thing Alive and perpetual victim of Super Drowning Skills.

Mundane Strengths/Abilities:
Super Speed - Sonic can run faster than the speed of sound, easily reaching Mach 1 and breaking the sound barrier constantly.  It's this speed that plays a major role in all of his other abilities.
Spin Attack - the most basic attack in Sonic's repertoire.  Curling up into a ball of spines, then jumping atop/into a robot while spinning
Jump Dash/Double Jump - Sonic either propels himself forward by spinning or catches air to push himself higher. Double Jump only used in Sonic Colours, so I assume gravity has a role in it
Homing Attack - a more advanced version of the Spin Attack; he launches himself at the enemy while curled up in a ball of spines
Spin Dash - Curls up on the ground, charging up energy until he releases in a burst of speed
Light Attack - super useless.  Can destroy every enemy within a certain distance of Sonic at light speed!
Light Speed Dash - Allows Sonic to run across a trail of rings at light speed. Not applicable in any place without rings
Boost - a sudden burst in speed that allows Sonic to practically fly across the scenery. Sonic can perform this either on the ground or in the air Inaccessible to Sonic without either Rings or White Wisps.
Swordplay - basic skills depending on what style he's using.  For the sake of convenience, we'll say he sticks with the Knight style
Werehog Transformation - requires influence from Dark Gaia; Sonic turns into a beefed up werehog version of himself.  Generally a sort of 'beat-em-up' type of battle-style
Darkspin Transformation - requires the World Rings (3); a being fueled by hatred, anger and sadness, uses hand-to-hand combat at super sonic speeds. A strange combination of Super and Werehog transformations while still remaining it's own separate form
Super Transformation - requires seven Chaos Emeralds and sometimes 50 rings to start. After that, he requires a steady supply of rings or else he'll revert back to just Sonic.  Capable of flight in this form and can travel at the speed of light (unless you're talking Fleetway Super, then he'll tear down buildings and shit.  Crazy psychopath that he is)

Do the last three count as mundane or magical? They're context dependent and largely inaccessible save for Super form... Sometimes.

Sensitivity/Magical Ability: ... I don't believe so? But when in doubt, list everything you can think of!

Sonic has the strange ability of a great many VG heroes to literally utilize any strange power to save the day. Chaos Emeralds happen to be the main source of said power but Sonic's been exposed to the Seven World Rings of the Arabian Nights, the energy of Dark Gaia (and, to an extent, Light Gaia too), and the Hyper Go-on power that made the Wisps a target for Eggman's schemes in the first place. Like Shadow, Sonic can use Chaos Control but with much less finesse having almost passed out the first time he uses it on his own and rarely using it solo afterwards save for the fight against the Ultimate Lifeform upon the Eclipse Cannon.

Supply List: His shoes. They totally count. Also gloves. Can't forget the gloves.
